Treat or Treat?

I got the second round of trick-or-treat here. Naughty Paul and chubby Ryan sprinkled red substances in front of our doorsteps. Yesterday it was Ryan who knocked and begged for candies. I already gave him all and yesterday, and since both of them were here today, and I have no more chocolates, I decided to toss away my pack of Milo. What a good sight seeing both of them with their spookiest outfit and Paul complaining “I can’t see anything with this mask on”. Kids!

then in the afternoon came Emily… She’s been wondering where all the blood came from and told me that Paul alleged it was from me because today is my time of the month! Kids!

then just now, Paul & Ryan knocked and surprised me with a handful of treats they got from their trick-or-treat mania and said that those are for me. Awwww… both kids are really sweet. I’m gonna miss them because on Monday, their family will be off to Taiwan. I’ll be left with the ever-so-naughty Korean kids Gina and Emily.

(Eye) had a Bad Day

On Sunday morning I woke up with a swollen right upper eyelid. It was painful and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t some cockroach bite. It kept getting more irritating and I’m already having a blurred vision so I decided to put on a hot compress. It didn’t alleviate the situation. It even got worse. So I slept that evening hoping to wake up the next day ready for work without a bulging eyelid.

Come Monday, I woke up and realized I can’t open my right eye anymore and it was glued together. I decided not to report to office given my unpleasant visage. I called up KC and described my situation and she advised me to see the doctor because this seems to be ‘sore eyes’. Art and Marvs were curious on why I was on leave so I told them about my eye and Marvs said it might be ‘sore eyes’ given that my eye has water-like discharges. I’m not fond of going to the doctor and taking medicines but at that time, my eye really hurt so I put on my sunglasses and headed to Borough Medical Care Institute. Dr. Subido, is the ophthalmologist during Mondays 1:00-3:00 pm. He diagnosed me with ‘Internal Hordeolum’ after inspecting my eyes and eyelid, and examining my vision. (Internal Hordeolum is not a Sty). He told me this was caused by an infection which I got from anywhere. Because this was caused by an infection, he advised me to stay home for a week so I won’t endanger my officemates into getting it as well once I contaminate the surfaces and objects with my hands (that had contact with my eye). I was given a prescription for Fucithalmic antibiotic eye ointment/drops which should be used twice a day for 7 days. Cold compress will also help reduce the swelling. If the swelling will last for a few more weeks, I may be advised to undergo a surgery to remove the lump. I hope it won’t reach that stage.  Oh, and Dr. Subido is very nice and accommodating, and a great doctor so I’ll definitely consider him as my ophthalmologist for keeps.
