Desperate Housewives Season 6
It was announced on April 23, 2009 that Desperate Housewives will return for season 6 on September. Season 5 ended in a wedding scene where Mike Delfino is marrying somebody. Until now, nobody knows who the bride is.
I was wondering what will happen to the member of the cast. I tried to investigate and here’s what I got:
- Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher), Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), Bree Van Hodge (Marcia Cross) and Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria Parker) – All of them will surely return to honor their entire-run-contract for the show
- Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) – She also has a contract similar to the four housewives above, hence she’s expected to return
- Tom Scavo (Doug Savant) – He is expected to be back as well
- Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany)– She has a contract for at least three seasons, meaning season 6 will be her third. So she’s expected to return. (To clear who Mike really married)
- Karl Mayer (Richard Burgi)and Julie Mayer (Andrea Bowen) – For most of the past season, they have been on guest-starring role. This time, there’s a chance they might be part of the regular cast.
- Karen McCluskey (Kathryn Joosten)– Karen is believed to be back as part of principal cast.
- Mike Delfino (James Denton)– He’ll be back to clear things between Susan and Katherine
- Orson Hodge (Kyle MacLachlan)– He is rumoured to quit the show because he’s now a father and he’s having difficulty to commute from his home to the show’s set. Let’s see what happens to his marriage with Bree.
- Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan)– She is gone, and will still be missed.
- Ana Solis – The newcomer is expected to be part of the regular cast primarily to conflict with Gabrielle (at least in the beginning)
As for the others, I didn’t find any news. Note that these are just expectations and not a guarantee. Everything will depend on the show’s leads, writers and directors. For sure, things will be clearer once they start filming this July.
Optimus Prime at Eastwood City
I remember a week ago that the weekend’s theme is also about cars. High end models were displayed inside the mall and in also the park. I’m quite surprised with their values. Anybody who purchases such will surely avail of car insurance at least to have protection against loss or damage.
This week though is Transformers week. No doubt about that. All cinemas in Eastwood City are showing one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. And as part of its marketing strategy, Eastwood City has deployed Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. I wasn’t able to see Bumblebee, but got a chance to have a picture with Optimus Prime, only in its car mode though.
Archie Chooses Veronica
68 years in waiting. Finally, the love triangle will be broken. Archie will propose to Veronica in the 600th issue of Archie. Poor Betty. In the magazine’s cover, Betty is wiping away her tears, as she watches Archie presenting a ring to Veronica. Veronica says “YES!”
In numerous forums, blogs and news sites, thousands think that Archie should have chosen Betty. Some Betty fans said statements like “Later, when you want a real relationship, you marry a Betty”, and “Sexy doesn’t last; wholesome does.”
Nobody knows what the issue contains. Who will be honored to wear a tuxedo shirt to be Archie’s best man? Who will be Veronica’s maid of honor? There might be some twist in the story. Who knows?
The much anticipated 600th issue will be released this August or September.
Eastwood City’s Musical Fountain
Weekends at Eastwood City are becoming more entertaining. People from different places visit the new restaurants and shops. Aside from these, there are recurring promos with special prizes such as cruise for two, trip for two to Hong Kong, gadgets and a lot more.
Families, couples and groups of friends continue to flock new attractions in the area. One of which is the Musical Fountain. This is a nightly presentation at the park facing the Eastwood Mall and it has fascinated all visitors ever since it went live. The Eastwood City’s Musical Fountain is a perfectly choreographed water fountain show. The fountain movement matches the song that’s being played. It’s not as grand as the ones shown on Vegas, but it surely is amusing and enjoyable.
Here are some pictures.
Stackers Burger at Eastwood City
The Stackers Burger at Eastwood City is one of the newest restaurants that opened this year. Their specialty of course is burger but it’s offered in lots of varieties. Aside from this, other dishes include chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, fried chicken, salads and more. One thing for sure if you plan to frequently visit this place – you need to have those fat burners ready.
The café is 24 hours open, so this is good news to those working on night shift, party goers and those who stay up late at night.
No More Java Man in Greenbelt Powerbooks
I am saddened to know that one of my favourite cafe, the Java Man in Powerbooks Greenbelt, has closed. Perhaps the news came late to me because the last time I visited the place was more than three months ago. We intentionally went to Makati today just to dine there, only to see the bare area once occupied by the coffee shop. I was able to talk to one of the bookstore’s crew and he said that Java Man’s contract with Powerbooks has ended and that they did not renew.
This is bad news to Powerbooks visitors, especially to those who frequently go the place and to those who use the cafe as venue for short meetings, breaks and relaxation. We were once regular customers of the coffee shop, but our visits were lessened because we transferred to a more distant home and workplace. I just wish Java Man will open a new branch soon.
H1N1 Death Reaches 125 Out of 21,940
As of June 5, a total of 21,940 case of influenza A (H1N1) 69 countries have officially reported 21,940 cases of influenza A (H1N1) infection, including 125 deaths. When you read the papers and articles from the internet, people from all around the world are now becoming more vigilant on their surroundings and with people they interact with. Some wear masks, take in more vitamins, secure medicare supplement, and limit their time going to public areas. Government from all countries are allocating budget to activities that support the prevention and cure of the flu. Though the fatality rate is less than 1%, the rate of spread is pretty alarming to me. We hope that a cure will be discovered as soon as possible, the disease will be contained and won’t evolve into a deadlier type.
Here’s the status as of June 5 (Update 44 from WHO)

Desperate Housewives Season 5 Episode 25… or Season 6?
The episode 24 of Desperate Housewives season 5 ended with Mike Delfino marrying somebody. As of now, nobody knows if that girl is Susan (again) or Catherine. From the clip that I initially watched in the internet, I thought that it was impossible to identify the bride because the video’s quality was affected by the camcorders‘ recording. I got the answer when I came across an article about Dana Delany (Catherine) claiming that neither she nor Teri Hatcher Susan knows who Mike married because apparently, the bride in that scene is an ‘extra’. Nobody from the cast really knows.
I was anticipating an episode 5 season finale, but I read from other blogs and websites that season 5 is over – there is no episode 25. Desperate Housewives Season 6 will be aired a few months from now, perhaps around September or October.
