Johnny Rockets at Eastwood City
Johnny Rockets recently opened at Eastwood City, a few days before typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) hit the country. During the onslaught, we didn’t have any food at home so we decided to dine out. At that time, only a few restaurants were open and even Eastwood Mall closed at an early time. We didn’t bother to move farther away because of the heavy rain and strong winds, so we decided to dine at Johnny Rockets. Actually, we felt excited because the crew was joyful and the ambiance felt lively. At some point, I felt spirit of America at 70’s and 80’s, much like dining beside classic, cheap Hotels Miami
We ordered the following:
To be honest, I wasn’t totally amazed at the servings, especially when we saw the price of each dish. We ended up buying ordinary meals because the stunning ones look really amazing, but will really drain our pockets.
The thing that I really like is this:
Call it a mini-jukebox or anything. I really don’t know what they call it, but I find it wonderful. It only takes a peso for you to play a song. The song list is limited but they’re classic (talking about 70s and 80s). We spent every peso in our wallet to try all the songs that we knew – Locomotion, Mrs. Robinson, Fun, Fun, Fun, Calendar Girls and more. If you plan to visit Johnny Rockets at Eastwood, I suggest you stay at a table with this little cute music box.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! (Johnny rockets, Philippine branch)
It was my first visit to this restaurant and being a first time
customer I had high expectations (cos of all the buzz this resto has
been generating in the US). The food was okay, the burger patties were
pretty tender, the onion rings were good as well. Had quite a c…hallenge
with the malt shake though, it was really hard to suck the malt shake
down with the straw that came with the order…
Midway through our meal a HUGE COCKROACH crawled pass our table…..
When the waiter noticed the roach she just simply stepped on that
little bugger till it was all bloody and smooshed….. The waiter never
came around to pick it up, so after 10 minutes we had to call their attention to clean
up the mess!! It was disappoin…ting to find roaches while your eating on
a restaurant that charges you $20-25 per burger!!!
A couple of hours after dining on their overpriced burgers i started to
notice itching on my chest and arms. When i got back home and took of
my shirt i notice red itchy spots all over my body!!!
I called my sibling who dined with me at johnny rockets to find out they too got sick after eating here. It wouldve been okay if only one or 2 person got
it, but apparently all four of us got the same symptoms after eating at this branch. OVERALL I WOULD ADVICE EVERYBODY TO AVOID THIS OVERPRICED,
COCKROACH INFESTED, DISGUSTING RESTAURANT AT ALL COST!!
Hi Ainsley, thanks for sharing your experience. Yeah, I too think it’s overpriced. I had the same experience in Kitchen, located at Greenbelt, Makati. The difference is I actually was able to eat half of the roach which prompted me to vomit in the washroom. It’s disappointing to know that these experiences came from dining at high-end restaurants.
