An electric blanket is a blanket that has an attached heating device to provide comfort when sleeping. This is common in countries with winter season. A variation of this is the electric mattress, which too provides heat except that it’s placed under the bed sheet. These bed stuffs usually come in different sizes – standard, queen and king size.

The electric blanket and mattress usually have a control gadget that allows a person to adjust the amount of heat produced. The source of energy is of course electricity, which would make a person think twice before using it because of any danger it might cause.

Due to reported incidents related to electric blankets/mattresses, producers have turned into measures to create safer products. Latest technologies introduced some changes in the production of these blanket and mattresses. Scientifically proven secure materials are now used, and a lower power voltage is required to produce heat. Such things helped produced much safer electric blankets/mattresses nowadays.
