MEET AND GREET KIM HYUN JOONG (HYUN JI HOO OF BOF) – PHILIPPINES – AUGUST 2011

Today, August 25, 2011, Kim Hyun Joong met fans at Trinoma Activity Center for promotion of his album from PolyEast Records. The event was supposed to start at 6:00 PM. The first 500 who were able to buy Kim Hyun Joong’s solo album “BREAK DOWN” got a chance to hi-five the handsome Korean celebrity. How were they able to be one of the first 500? – The answer is they bought the album as early as they can. We were there at around 5:30 PM and the albums were already SOLD OUT.

We can hardly breathe as the crowd was as thick as a nimbus cloud. There were a few guest singers not known to me aiming to pacify the crowd’s excitement before Kim Hyun Joong’s arrival. Since we were there even before 6:00 PM, we have been waiting for at least an hour already standing with the crowds at the far end. We decided to just grab a burger at Brother’s Burger and gulped iced tea to relieve our thirst before we got back to standing and waiting. At around 7:05 PM, the handsome Kim Hyun Joong came and the crowd naturally went ballistic, cheering their hearts out. All the lucky 400 fans who had the chance to enter the event lined up as they literally high-fived Kim Hyun Joong. It was being announced that fans must only do hi-five, meaning no embracing and Kissing Kim Hyun Joong. However, kids were lucky because Kim Hyun Joong seems so fond of children and he kisses them as they go (and every time this happens, crowds cheer their tonsils out). After around 10 minutes of Kim Hyun Joong’s appearance, the event was concluded.

Because we were not able to get into the event and wasn’t comfortably sitting, I decided to go to The Face Shop, another one promoted by Kim Hyun Joong. I saw a poster with the details about Kim Hyun Joong Meet & Greet for August 26, 2011. In some earlier posts, it was said that if you buy P500 worth of The Face Shop products, plus you buy his album and two (2) posters for P500, you will have a chance of winning a) an individual Photo taking with Kim Hyun Joong on August 26, 2011 Mall of Asia, 10 AM (5 winners); b) Autograph signing with Kim Hyun Joong on August 26, 2011, Trinoma, 5:15 PM (100 winners) c) pre-signed KHJ Poster. The amount totaling to P1,000 is not a guarantee that you will get into the event, but rather, you’ll only have a chance of winning the prizes.

However, I saw today that if I buy P1,000 worth of The Face Shop product and buy KHJ’s album, I will have one admission pass to the August 26, 2011 event’s autograph session. I bought the package and I paid a total of P1,650, one P1000+ product, and the P500 album. I got the ticket but I read a note that it’s not valid for the autograph session. Now I’m confused but at least I don’t have to go there early as I already have a reserved seat. I wanted to invite my husband and my friend, but I know they’re not willing to pay P1,500 just to get an entrance to the event and I do not have another P3,000 to pay for their entrance. The sad thing is I won’t have anyone to take my picture. Here’s my ticket to the event (Picture C)

I also heard that there was an auction for KHJ’s signed Adidas Sports Shorts and bid started at P10,000, with bid increment of P5,000. Last day for bidding is on August 21, 2011.

Evolution of Technology

Technology has created wonders that seem to be impossible years ago. In fact, the current generation may not even know that some of old machines, tools ever existed. Here are some things that have greatly evolved over the past years.

Long Distance Calls. Surely, long distance calls is still used today. However, costs are way less compared to how it was ten years ago. In fact, you can talk to your loved ones overseas for free, with the use of technologies offered by Skype and Yahoo for instance.

Face to Face meetings. Companies save a lot on air fare and lodging when they replace any face to face meetings with teleconference or video conferencing. Tools such as megameeting web conferencing software are key to this change.

Snail Mail. Email revolutionized the sending of messages from one person to another. A message that used to take days can now be sent in seconds. Emails may not have totally replaced this, but it has reduced the number of mails to more or less 80%. On top of this, social networking sites have enabled people to socialize online regardless of geographical location. Indeed, the world is now smaller.

Certainly, there are a lot more.  Just look around and check on the background/history of every gadget or tool that you use.
