Enchanted Movie
We watched the movie Enchanted about a week ago and I’d say that it’s one of the nicest movies that I’ve seen. At first, I thought that I made a mistake buying it because the story might be for very young children. That insight remained during the first part of the film throughout cartoon animation. Only when Giselle came into life that I suddenly became very interested in the film.
The cartoon characters from Andalasia are as follows: Giselle as the princess who is engaged to Prince Edward. The witch is Prince Edward’s stepmother. There’s also a helper named Nathaniel and a chipmunk friend of Giselle called Pip. In the real world, there’s Robert, his daughter Morgan and his girlfriend Nancy. Robert is a shown as a lawyer, not as one of the Tennessee injury lawyers, but somebody that specialized in divorce and marriage.
The mixture of the “Happily Ever After” world and the real world was the gist of the story. Everyone met into the real world and this is when love interests were intertwined. In the end, Prince Edward returned to Andalasia with Nancy as his wife. Giselle stayed in NY to be with Robert and Morgan.
One thing that made us interested in the story is the characters. At first glance, I recognized Giselle (Amy Adams) as Amelia Earheart in the movie Night at the Museum 2, Battle of the Smithsonian. Marlon guessed that she is the girl in Confessions of a Shopaholic. Prince Edward (James Marsden) is more recognizable because he’s in X-Men as Cyclops and in The Notebook. Robert Philip (Patrick Dempsey) is not that familiar to both of us, though I liked his character in the story. Of course, our favorite is Nathaniel – more popularly known as Wormtail from the Harry Potter movies.
