Generally, wrinkles are attributed to aging. There is no question. Wrinkles are a by-product of the aging process, and this is scientifically proven. Another known cause is the facial muscle contractions. To some people, the lines around the eyes and other areas in the face are effect of facial expressions such as laughing, smiling, frowning and others.

External factors such as the sun and cigarette also cause wrinkles. Too much exposure to ultraviolet radiation causes premature aging, and consequently affects the skin.
